Nokia E55 034.001 HACKED - RomPatcher 2.3
Posted on February 11th, 2010 78 commentsThis tutorial will explain how to hack your Nokia E55 with the latest firmware on it 034.001. This might be an opportunity to upgrade to the latest firmware version available right now (07.06.2010) and is compatible with the previous firmware version 033.012 . This method uses a firmware “patch”.
On Windows 7 it has been reported that the drivers won’t work correctly.
The patch for the new version 034.001 is posted bellow.
For version 034.001 use the same procedure as for 031.012 version.
Update 02.04.2010:
- Fixed buggy patch file which removed Youtube, Facebook and MySpace widgets.
- If you wish to flash your phone with JAF just copy the files from rm482-033.022-patch directory (is found in patch archive) into the Nokia firmware folder of your E55 (usually is here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\DataPackage\Products\RM-482). Replace the current files in the fw folder or make a backup of the older ones first. The files which are replaced are: rm482_033.002_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx and rm482_033.002_U001.000_prd.uda.fpsx.
Notice: by doing this you won’t be able to flash with Pheonix. I recomend that you avoid this method and use the Pheonix method described bellow in this article, or if you want to use JAF select the CNT file separately, in the directory where you extracted the patch files.
To get this job over with you need the folowing:
1. Pheonix Service Suite. Get it from here:
- Latest version: http://rapidshare.com/files/359894765/Phoenix_2010.8.exe
- http://rs724.rapidshare.com/files/330727428/Phoenix_Service_Software_2009.34.14.40684_cracked.exe
2. The firmware files for your E55 with the right version. Get it from here:
- version 031.012 here: http://rs420.rapidshare.com/files/344909090/rm482_CareDP_3.0_EUROPE_E55.exe
- version 033.002 here: http://rs858eun.rapidshare.com/files/364630037/336635/rm482_CareDP_4.0_EUROPE_E55.exe
- version 034.001 here: http://uploaded.to/file/2a3gtc/rm482_CareDP_5.0_EUROPE_E55.exe
3. The firmware patch for:
- 031.012 version. Download it from here: http://www.2shared.com/file/11299491/a73b26ac/rm482-031012-fw-patch.html
- 033.002 version. Download it from here:
- 034.001 version. Download it from here:
Once all of these files are downloaded, you must install Pheonix and the Firmware files for you mobile phone. DO SO! The proces is not complicated.
Just remember to close any other nokia software before running Pheonix, because it may interfere with the flashing process and you don’t want to brick your phone.
Dead USB flashing short guide:
You can start Pheonix to use Dead USB flashing by doing the following:
- start Phoenix
- go to File > Manage Connections…
- in the Priority list, move NO CONNECTION first in the list, click Apply and Close
- now go to File > Open product, select RM-482 and click Open
- go to Flashing > Firmware update, tick Dead USB flashing and follow the steps described in the tutorial.
After successfully installing Pheonix and Nokia E55 Firmware package we do the following:1. We run Phoenix (All Programs > Phoenix > Phoenix)
2. Make sure your phone is connected via USB and PC Suite mode is enabled.
3. We are now in Phoenix main menu, we go to File > Scan product… , after which if the operation is successful, the top menu and the status bar should look like in image from step 4 ( see below).
4. Now the product is recognized and loaded by Phoenix and we are going to prepare to flash the phone with the latest version of firmware available right now and at the same time HACK IT using the firmware patch which will automatically install RomPatcher+ 2.3. Next you click Flashing > Firmware Update from the top menu after which a dialog box should pop-out. See the image below:
5. Now the flashing dialog will have poped-out listing give you multiple choices. First you must select the firmware version you want to flash (in case you don’t want to flash the auto-selected firmware). You can do so by clicking the
” … ” buton which will bring a list with all the available firmware for your model. Pick one and click OK6. After selecting our wanted firmware for flashing we click Options > Add and we look for our patch (the one in the archive, you must unrar it first to use it :)) ). It’s the one with the similar name with a file in the flash list (take a good look at before clicking Add): rm482_031.012_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx or rm482_031.012_U001.000_prd.uda.fpsx (BTW: both are the same)
After selecting the patch file to flash, set the Type to: Content and tick Refurbish while you are in the Add file dialog box.
The flash file list should look like in the image below:
Now we click OK to close the dialog box and we get ready to flash the mobile phone.
7. Now click Refurbish and wait for Pheonix to finish flashing your phone. The output should be like in the image below:
Doesn’t matter if you get warning or error during the flash. If you brick your phone IT CAN BE FIXED!
Click OK in the dialog, Close in the flash box, and close Phoenix, remove the data cable from your phone, configure it and go to Application > RomPatcher+ and activate the available patches.
Here is the result:
PSSS: I think this patch works on almost any symbian mobile phone

Ok:)Firstly i have to thank admin for that post:)!!Yesterday bricked my phone with Phoenix but with the help of that article poster i have solved it again:)BTW-IT WORKS WITH WINDOWS 7 32-BIT!All mess was coz i had (well still having:) driver problem on my main PC.After that used my wife’s PC with win7 installed and everything went fine.Firstly i used *dead phone USB flashing option* to get my bricked phone alive again, after that flashed again as told in tutorial and now i have RomPatcher installed.I’m not newbie in hacking software but flashing phone is totally new for me(and i mean flashing not hacking the phone)DON’T do that if ur english is poor and u can’t understand everything written above.Even if u have understood everything keep readin’ it some other more times and follow EXACT all procedure.AND AGAIN-don’t try flashing if some driver issue icon pops up on taskbar-use another PC then.Nokia PC Suite must be installed as well!!!Big thanks to the poster:)

Bricked my phone..
i followed the steps. but when phoenix was pragramming it crashed
how can i restore the original firmware? -
admin March 1st, 2010 at 20:24
Well, try to tick the Dead USB Flash in the options. If not available try to flash it in normal mode, a error would appear because it wouldn’t detect the phone, a window will appear, click Cancel and then the Dead USB option will be available. Do this while the phone’s data cable is removed, click Refurbish and when it says to press the Power button, insert the data cable without pressing the Power button (the phone should autostart).
-
Everingo March 1st, 2010 at 23:37
I looked, but when Phoenix start it doesn’t show the ‘firmware update’ option in the flash menu.
only ‘fps-8c Flash’ and ‘fps-8c Flash Pro’.
when i click on one of those 2, you are right a error appears…only on error. -
admin March 1st, 2010 at 23:51
You must click File > Open Product > RM-482 (thats E55) then Firmware update will appear and follow the procedure i wrote in the previous comment.
-
Everingo March 2nd, 2010 at 00:15
i can’t find RM-482 only RM-48. i installed the firmware files tweice, but still RM-482 is not in the list.
So i tried with RM-48, the dead usb option is still grey. -

Hello,
The product code is 0591117. Can I change the product code to 0568630 (0568630 021.013 EURO 1 Black Al)?
Then the firmware of the E55 that has Portuguese language is:
http://rs536.rapidshare.com/files/263951645/RM-482_EUROPE_021.013_v1.01.exe
Correct?Thanks.
-
another question so sorry to bother you again:
do i will lose all data after apply the patch or i have to save all files before -
Do a backup before flashing your phone, because all content will be erased.
-
Hi,
Will this hack allow me to install unsigned applications on my E55?

DextAir March 26th, 2010 at 22:28
Hello,
I just bricked my phone!
So, please help me to fix it. So, the story is, I already had a 033.002 firmware on the phone, but I tried to downgrade, and install the patch together whit the 031.012! So, during the flash some problem pups up, and a phone is dead. If I plug in to the computer, it says NOKIA USB ROM, new hardware, and ready to use. And if the power button pressed, it just vibrating and nothing happening… So, what do U think? I tried the solution what U posted befor, but I can’t make the DEAD USB FLASH option available. HEEELLLLP! Thx,
-
I installed, it works, thank you very much. However I noticed the phone now restarts itself from time to time or it hangs for 5-10 seconds. Also when trying to type a tel number very fast it won\’t display the numbers immediately after you type them, but with a delay.
Is this because of the firmware or the hack?
Thanks,
Arun

admin April 2nd, 2010 at 11:45
I will add a mirror with the file, but right now i spotted a bug in the flash file and flashing method which doesnt add Youtube, Facebook and MSN in your firmware.
I will update the flashing details and files as soon as posible. Untill then use the current resources because they are correct and do their job right.
UPDATE: The new patch files are available and extra instructions are posted. Enjoy.

Hi admin, thank you very much for your work! I did all of the stuff exactly as you describe, but when i click “Refubish” and the flash begin, after about 10 seconds i close Phoenix program ( of course not intentionally ) . So now i have problem. The phone only vibrate once when i press the power button and nothing happen after this, only black screen. I try to activate the “Dead usb flashing” but without sucess, i try with all of the ways that you describe on 2 OS ( Win XP and Win 7 ) but this option i still unavailable

You wrote this:” Well, try to tick the Dead USB Flash in the options. ”
What means ” try to flash it in normal mode ” ?
I make all of the steps again and then click refurbish then error appear
“The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?
HRESULT 0×8421001e (-2078212066)
No connection to phone. Cannot start mode change for phone mode before flashing.”
There’s 2 options Retry and Cancel i click Cancel but the Dead USB option is still grey
I try to this when phone is connect and when is disconnect but there’s no difference, the option is still unavailable. Any suggestions or i make a mistake somewhere? Thank you! -
admin May 9th, 2010 at 15:33
You can start Pheonix to use Dead USB flashing by doing the following:
- start Phoenix
- go to File > Manage Connections…
- in the Priority list, move NO CONNECTION first in the list, click Apply and Close
- now go to File > Open product, select RM-482 and click Open
- go to Flashing > Firmware update, tick Dead USB flashing and follow the steps described in the tutorial.NOTE: When it says to Press the Power button, DON’T, you just insert the data cable in your phone, because this will start it.
-
deather May 9th, 2010 at 17:18
I find the problem…the version of phoenix. I remove the new version ( 2010 ) and install the old one and all goes without problems
Thanks again

I successfully installed hacked 34.001 firmware on my e55 using patch for 33.002. Just renamed the patch file to rm482_034.001_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx and it worked! Used Phoenix 2010.8 on Win7 x64.

Hi, I tried firmware patch 033.002 with 034.001 firmware on E52 (RM-469). Flashing was ok, but there is no Rompatcher in the application menu. Is there some trick I’m missing? Or will it not work this way? I also tried to rename patch file, to match model number and version, but same result. Would it be possible to post updated patch, possibly also for E52? Thanks a lot.

I’ll try patching the E52 firmware files if you paste a link to them, and test them after patch.

If i make a hard reset, rp+ still in the firmware? or i need to do the process again…
Thanks -
I did need to make a hardreset and I lost the rompatcher, then i do install rompatcher but the patcher*.ldd files were missing also

then, if u make a hardreset you need to do the complet proces again? omg then!
-
Too dodgy for me, there must be another way?
-
Yes or not? Do you need to do the process again after a hard reset?
-
Hi,

-
@matt: After a hard-reset the patch will be erased and the procedure must be done again.
@nico:give it a try. if no major version was installed the procedure will work.PS: If a newer version is released please let me know.
-
I’m sorry,
the small update update the fw to 034. ok, i have the correct fw version, but…what’s the maximum risk? Thanks again
