  • Nokia E55 034.001 HACKED – RomPatcher 2.3

    This tutorial will explain how to hack your Nokia E55 with the latest firmware on it 034.001. This might be an opportunity to upgrade to the latest firmware version available right now (07.06.2010) and is compatible with the previous firmware version 033.012 .  This method uses a firmware “patch”.

    On Windows 7  it has been reported that the drivers won’t work correctly.

    The patch for the new version 034.001 is posted bellow.

    Firmware DOWNGRADING is NOT POSSIBLE. It will only BRICK your device.

    For version 034.001 use the same procedure as for  031.012 version.

    Update 02.04.2010:

    • Fixed buggy patch file which removed Youtube, Facebook and MySpace widgets.
    • If you wish to flash your phone with JAF just copy the files from rm482-033.022-patch directory (is found in patch archive) into the Nokia firmware folder of your E55 (usually is here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\DataPackage\Products\RM-482). Replace the current files in the fw folder or make a backup of the older ones first. The files which are replaced are: rm482_033.002_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx and rm482_033.002_U001.000_prd.uda.fpsx.
      Notice:       by doing this you won’t be able to flash with Pheonix.       I recomend that you avoid this method and use the Pheonix method described bellow in this article, or if you want to use JAF select the CNT file separately, in the directory where you extracted the patch files.

    To get this job over with you need the folowing:

    1. Pheonix Service Suite. Get it from here:

    2. The firmware files for your E55 with the right version. Get it from here:

    3. The firmware patch for:

    Once all of these files are downloaded, you must install Pheonix and the Firmware files for you mobile phone. DO SO! The proces is not complicated.

    Just remember to close any other nokia software before running Pheonix, because it may interfere with the flashing process and you don’t want to brick your phone.

    Dead USB flashing short guide:

    You can start Pheonix to use Dead USB flashing by doing the following:
    - start Phoenix
    - go to File > Manage Connections…
    - in the Priority list, move NO CONNECTION first in the list, click Apply and Close
    - now go to File > Open product, select RM-482 and click Open
    - go to Flashing > Firmware update, tick Dead USB flashing and follow the steps described in the tutorial.

    After successfully installing Pheonix and Nokia E55 Firmware package we do the following:

    1. We run Phoenix (All Programs > Phoenix > Phoenix)

    2. Make sure your phone is connected via USB and PC Suite mode is enabled.

    3. We are now in Phoenix main menu, we go to File > Scan product… , after which if the operation is successful, the top menu and the status bar should look like in image from step 4 ( see below).

    4.  Now the product is recognized and loaded by Phoenix and we are going to prepare to flash the phone with the latest version of firmware available right now and at the same time HACK IT using the firmware patch which will automatically install RomPatcher+ 2.3. Next you click Flashing > Firmware Update from the top menu after which a dialog box should pop-out.  See the image below:

    5. Now the flashing dialog will have poped-out listing give you multiple choices. First you must select the firmware version you want to flash (in case you don’t want to flash the auto-selected firmware). You can do so by clicking the
    ” … ” buton which will bring a list with all the available firmware for your model. Pick one and click OK

    6. After selecting our wanted firmware for flashing we click Options > Add and we look for our patch (the one in the archive, you must unrar it first to use it :) ) ). It’s the one with the similar name with a file in the flash list (take a good look at before clicking Add): rm482_031.012_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx or rm482_031.012_U001.000_prd.uda.fpsx (BTW: both are the same)

    After selecting the patch file to flash, set the Type to: Content and tick Refurbish while you are in the Add file dialog box.

    Now we click OK to close the dialog box and we get ready to flash the mobile phone.

    7. Now click Refurbish and wait for Pheonix to finish flashing your phone. The output should be like in the image below:

    Doesn’t matter if you get warning or error during the flash. If you brick your phone IT CAN BE FIXED!

    Click OK in the dialog, Close in the flash box, and close Phoenix, remove the data cable from your phone, configure it and go to Application > RomPatcher+ and activate the available patches.

    PSSS: I think this patch works on almost any symbian mobile phone :)

    • what about the last OS version 034-001 ?
      i can update my nokia without losing the hack or i should wait untill the new files are made?

    • Give it a try and see if the latest patch works with version 034.00. If not, I’ll release a new patch soon. Right now i’m downloading the firmware.

    • I successfully installed hacked 34.001 firmware on my e55 using patch for 33.002. Just renamed the patch file to rm482_034.001_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx and it worked! Used Phoenix 2010.8 on Win7 x64.

    • My E55 has product code 0591117 (UK) – what can I do to hack it? the product code isn’t included in the firmware download link provided.

    • Hi, I tried firmware patch 033.002 with 034.001 firmware on E52 (RM-469). Flashing was ok, but there is no Rompatcher in the application menu. Is there some trick I’m missing? Or will it not work this way? I also tried to rename patch file, to match model number and version, but same result. Would it be possible to post updated patch, possibly also for E52? Thanks a lot.

    • I’ll try patching the E52 firmware files if you paste a link to them, and test them after patch.

    • Just upgraded to 034.001 on a e55 in the UK on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit….. no issues at all and thanks a million :)

    • Thanks, Just intall 034.001 Hispania using Windows 7 x64. No problems, only a notice about NAND bad blocks at the end. But after reboot all was ok

    • I did need to make a hardreset and I lost the rompatcher, then i do install rompatcher but the patcher*.ldd files were missing also :(

    • @matt: After a hard-reset the patch will be erased and the procedure must be done again.
      @nico:give it a try. if no major version was installed the procedure will work.

      PS: If a newer version is released please let me know.

    • You mean, that you want to keep RomPatcher after a Hard Reset? Thats not possible right now because there is not method to modify the ROM files.

    • Sir admin, is there a chance that you could do a complete e52 fw 034.001 flashing tutorial. I know im in an e55 zone but, please do consider my request. My phone was previously “033.002″ but whe i tried flashing it back then, i failed and end up with a dead phone, with no knowledge about flashing “a dead phone”. I sent it back to nokia, and used the 1 year warranty for it to be fixed (thank god the warranty brought me my e52 back without spending quite a sum). But to my dismay, they upgraded my fw, without my consent, i was so thankful they returned my phone without charging me, but ‘upgrading it!’ GEEZ! Aargh! I only ask for them to fix it, not upgrade it. Now im in problem, how am i supposed to flash it now. I only have thd procedure on how to flash 033.002, and i only have the resources for 033.002 flashing, not for a 034.001. Please help me admin sir, or anyone please. Thanks.

    • RomPatcher++ se gaseste in acel patch care trebuie sa il descarci. Dai cu google translate putin.

    • 1. Nu folosi naviFirm ala ca e porcarie fisierele de firmware sunt ciudate si poate sa nu fie bune. Ia pachetul de firmware direct din link-ul de download.
      2. Daca citai articolul putin vei fi observat ca cele doua fisiere sunt aproape identice ( ma refer la rompatcher, dar ar fi o diferenta, ca pentru produsele din vestul europei)- lista fisiere: patch-rm482_034.001_U001.000_prd.uda.fpsx, patch-rm482_034.001_U000.000_prd.uda.fpsx

    • Acum pot vedea folderele private private si sys din x-plore pot muta tot ce vreau eu….numai ca tot nu pot instala aplicatii unsigned. Trebuie sa imi semnez fiecare aplicatie in parte cu Signis si fisierele primite de la OPDA (cer si key)

      My phone became dead. Then I downloaded firmware 34 using Navifirm replace it with 31 in product folder it went fine and flashing successful, phone again working. I donot know why it not works for firmware 31? Any help please….

    • FW downgrading is not possible on nokia devices!!
